WHAT ARE THE SESSIONS LIKE?
TFW Barrie delivers group personal training. This means you schedule yourself into one of our class times on the schedule (20 people maximum per class). View our class descriptions and timetable here for more on what you can expect. We use a variety of equipment including kettlebells, dumbbells, TRX suspension and weighted ropes. You won’t find any treadmills at TFW Barrie but that doesn’t mean you won’t be working hard and burning fat!
WHAT ARE THE FACILITIES LIKE?
We have lockers and change rooms at TFW Barrie. We advise you to bring your own towel.
DO YOU OFFER 1-ON-1 PT SESSIONS?
No, we feel group personal training is much more successful for producing results and motivation.
HOW DO I BOOK MY OWN CLASSES?
Through our online booking system, which we provide access to on sign up.
HOW DO I START AN 8 WEEK CHALLENGE?
Getting registered into the next 8 Week Challenge couldn’t be easier, our next one starts on Saturday, May 25, 2019.
WHAT SHOULD I BRING TO MY FIRST TRAINING SESSIONS?
Just make sure you wear appropriate workout clothing, a bottle of water would be a great idea, and maybe a towel. Oh, and high energy and a positive attitude!
WHAT HAPPENS ONCE I SIGN UP?
After sign up you will be assigned a login for our booking system, you’ll be issued a membership, and you will be given Phase 1 of the nutrition program.
HOW MUCH IS TFW BARRIE?
Our memberships are $149 – $199/month depending on whether you choose 3x/week or unlimited training. This includes monthly assessments and nutrition guidance, educational videos, dedicated support, access to our Strength and Conditioning classes.
HOW LONG DO I SIGN UP FOR?
All of our membership agreements are 4 months in length. We do this because we feel that it takes this amount of time to create a new, long lasting lifestyle. TFW Barrie isn’t for people who want to drop in and out, or just do it for a month. We’re about making positive changes for people who are serious about improving their health and fitness. If this sounds more like you, then you’ll fit in well with the TFW Barrie Familia.
WHAT HAPPENS AFTER THE INITIAL 4 MONTH PERIOD?
After the initial 4 months, your membership automatically renews for an additional 4 months. If you would like to discontinue after your initial membership, all we need is 28 days notice to cancel it. However we hope you’ll be with us for much longer than 4 months, most of our members have been with us since we opened almost 3 years ago now, they’re now just part of the TFW Familia!
WHAT IS INVOLVED IN THE PROGRAM?
The Training For Warriors program is a progressive program that builds the exercise and nutrition each month to solidify what you’ve learned and achieved in the previous month.
Each month you’ll receive:
- 3-6 training sessions per week at TFW Barrie
- Nutrition guidance
- a series of videos
- support throughout the entire program
- regular body fat scans on our state of the art InBody 570
IS THE PROGRAM JUST FOR WEIGHT LOSS?
Not at all. We have a lot of people who come to us for fitness gains and really have no weight to lose in the first place. The TFW Barrie plan is a holistic program that covers health, body re-shaping, fitness, and mindset.
I HAVEN’T TRAINED FOR YEARS, WILL I BE ABLE TO DO THE CLASSES?
Absolutely, we highly recommend you start with the 7 Day Trial, 21 or 28 Day Challenge or 8 Week Challenge (when available) as these programs are developed for inexperienced people. Our team of Coaches are with you throughout every session, so if there’s exercises you may struggle with, they can offer alternatives. At TFW Barrie, everyone is working at their own individual abilities, even if you are in a session with a lot of experienced TFW Barrie members, you would still be able to perform the session, at YOUR level. Because everyone is working at their own individual ability, it means everyone is as tired as each other by the end, which is what creates such a unique, and positive atmosphere at TFW Barrie. And remember, everyone in the room was once in your position, so don’t feel uncomfortable in your first session, we’ve all been there!
WHAT DOES TFW BARRIE NUTRITION GUIDANCE LOOK LIKE?
With TFW Barrie Nutrition Guidance, our focus is on eating real food that will supply your body with all the building blocks it needs to create a healthy, vibrant, athletic body. After Phase 2, you’ll wonder how you ever touched the processed, man-made foods in the first place. Anything new will seem daunting, but once you feel the benefits, which can happen as quickly as a few hours, you will never look back!
